  2. Branson Parks and Recreation Adopt-A-Park/Trail Registration Form

    Thank you for your interest in the adopt-a-park/trail program and your willingness to make a positive impact in our community.  The following agreement will outline all of the information necessary for your group or organization to have success in this engaging program.

  4. Program Goals and Objectives
    • To provide a healthy, natural, and well-maintained area for all of our park visitors to enjoy. 
    • To encourage volunteer participation within the local community. 
    • To cultivate partnerships with community groups, organizations, and businesses who have an expressed interest of investing in the future vision of our parks and trails. 
    • To promote young stewardship within our local area by educating the importance of collaboration to provide a safe, essential, outdoor space for all to connect with nature

  20. Group Responsibilities
    • Commit to service in the designated park/trail at least 4-6 times per year.
      *Activities may be physical in nature such as: trimming brush back, planting trees, mulching, raking leaves and debris off of the trail, picking up litter, clearing trail of hazards such as limbs and rocks 
    • Email a report on the work accomplished, any trail issues or equipment requests to the Adoption Coordinator. A sign out/in sheet will be available for materials and tools provided by the Parks Department. Feel free to leave all filled trash bags at one of the trash receptacles within the area.
    • Participate in any public events such as Arbor Day, at the designated park/trail.
    • The named group leader will need to sign the Liability Release- on behalf of the organization- before adoption is approved and each group member sign the Liability Waiver and email to Adoption Coordinator before service can begin. 
    • Most importantly- Have FUN and enjoy the park and the trails!
  22. Parks Department Responsibilities
    •  Provide each group with a section of trail to maintain with instruction. 
    • Install signage showing our appreciation that your group, organization, or business is making a positive impact in our community by adopting a trail. 
    • Coordinate with group leader to provide necessary equipment along with sign out/in sheet. 
    • If applicable, provide training to each group that will consist of meeting on-site, walking the trail together and briefly discussing the needs of each trail section. 
  24. Liability Release

    I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge all claims against the City of Branson, its employees, agents, volunteers and commissioners for damages and/or injuries which may arise from participation in the above names event.  The undersigned is duly aware that there are risks and hazards inherent upon engaging in such activities hereby elects voluntarily to enter upon the premises, and to engage in or participate in said activities knowing that said activities or participation may be hazardous. The undersigned hereby voluntarily assume all risk of lost, damage, or injury that may be sustained as the result of such participation and activities. THIS IS A RELEASE- I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD BEFORE ACCEPTING.

    I have read the above agreement and understand the responsibilities that will be designated to my group or organization as part of the adopt-a-trail/flowerbed program. After reading and discussing the agreement, my group or organization is willing to make a difference in our community!

The Branson Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to remove any volunteer groups who fail to adhere to basic safety techniques, or who do not adequately maintain their park or trail.  In that event, the Parks Department will immediately begin maintenance of those areas and remove recognition signs.
