[ARCHIVED] Main Street to Close Between Commercial & Veteran's Blvd in Downtown Branson January 10

Phase 3 Construction Begins on Commercial Street from Atlantic to Pacific in the Historic Downtown Branson Streetscape Project – Businesses Remain Open

Branson, MO (January 6, 2017) – City of Branson Public Works is pleased to announce that construction has begun in Phase 3 of the Historic Downtown Streetscape Improvement Project. This phase will completely renovate Commercial Street from Atlantic to Pacific Streets, including new waterlines, storm sewers, pavement, sidewalks, street lighting and other amenities.

The contractor is currently installing waterlines and storm sewers on Commercial Street between Main Street and Pacific Street, closing this section to thru traffic until utility line construction is complete.

Beginning January 10, Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Veterans Blvd. and Commercial Street to allow for extensive underground utility and storm sewer work at the Commercial Street intersection.   The utility work is anticipated to be completed by March 15th, reopening this section of Main Street in time for the spring tourism season.

Pedestrian access will remain open to all businesses in these areas of Historic Downtown Branson at all times during construction.
