City to Roll Out New Permitting Software in January

Branson Logo City of Branson - NEWSFLASH

The City of Branson’s Planning & Development Department will launch “Citizenserve,” a new digital land management software system that will make the development and building permit process in Branson more efficient and transparent for customers and staff, beginning January 6, 2020.

This new system will dramatically cut down on paper and printing costs, allow applicants to file permits and upload documents electronically and will allow applicants digital access to the review process so they can better track the progress of their application.

“This new system will provide a much more efficient and user-friendly experience. Today, applicants are required to physically come to City Hall anytime they wish to submit an application. They also are required to submit seven copies of their plans. This can be costly and take time. Citizenserve will allow applicants to do it all electronically,” said Planning & Development Director, Joel Hornickel.

To streamline the transition to the new system, the City will pre-load all licensed contractors so they can log-in and use the system starting day one. The City will also host two public training sessions in the Council Chambers at Branson City Hall to show how to access and use the new system and to answer any questions:

•           Monday, December 16, 2019, at 11:00 a.m.

•           Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.

Adding this new system is in line with the community-created document, the Branson Community Plan 2030, in which one of the goals is to “maintain open, transparent communication with the community and will encourage greater informed participation in local governance.” This new system will also help an Economic Development goal in the Community Plan 2030 by supporting the “growth of the economy to set the stage for business development and expansion, job creation and a thriving entrepreneurial environment.”

For any questions regarding this new system, call the Branson Planning & Development office at 417-337-8549.
