Branson Police Conduct Random Alcohol Compliance Checks

BPD badge

The Branson Police Department conducted random alcohol compliance checks on October 8 and 9, 2019, at 79 licensed businesses throughout the City. These alcohol compliance checks are conducted quarterly at local businesses who are issued City of Branson liquor licenses to confirm businesses remain in compliance with proper age requirements associated with alcohol purchases.

Out of the 79 businesses checked in this sample, 91% were in compliance with purchasing requirements. Seven businesses were found in violation of proper age requirements associated with alcohol purchases. Citations were issued to all clerks found in violation of the City of Branson Ordinances governing the sale of alcohol to minors.

Businesses in violation were:

  • AJ’s One Stop
  • Botana’s
  • Mellow Mushroom
  • Landshark
  • Smith Creek Moonshine
  • Grand Plaza
  • Welk Resort

The City of Branson holds regular Responsible Liquor Selling training sessions. Branson City Ordinance requires all licensed businesses and all employees who serve or sell alcohol to undergo this training. The training helps mitigate the risk of selling to underage individuals or intoxicated persons. Servers and employees from neighboring communities are welcome to attend these training sessions.
