In an effort to honor the 119 firefighters from across the country who died in the line of duty in 2018, the Branson Fire Department will light up all City fire stations with red lights from September 29-October 6, 2019 and invite community members to participate as well, by changing porch lights to red.
Across the Country, landmarks, fire departments, and communities will also glow red in respect to fallen firefighters and their families. Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters will be held in conjunction with The 2019 National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend which is held October 5-6, 2019 in Emmitsburg, Maryland. That is where the families of the 119 fallen firefighters will gather for a Candlelight Service.
Last year, some of the most iconic buildings and bridges across the country as well as over 100 fire departments participated in honoring our fallen heroes. The Branson Fire Department hopes you will join this extraordinary display of recognition by changing your porch light to red from September 29 – October 6, 2019.
