The City of Branson Tree Board has chosen the Clarion Hotel, located at 2820 West Hwy 76, for May’s Beautification Award.
Branson, Missouri is located in the heart of the Ozarks where there are many ornamental, native trees that “spring” out with waves of white and purple blossoms. Our indigenous cornus florida, commonly known as the dogwood, is one of the Ozarks most prized blossoms in early spring and the Clarion Hotel had a wonderful display of creamy white blooms.
The owners, Dwight and Linda Sprague, gave all of the “beautification” credit to their manager, Tim Dent and Juan Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez has worked twenty-two years for the Clarion Hotel and truly enjoys planting and maintaining their landscape.
The Clarion Hotel opened in 1992 and the landscape was initially installed by a local nursery, Greenworks, from Highlandville. Many celebrities have stayed at the Clarion over the years; Bob Hope, Paul Harvey President George H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush a well as Miss USA contestants.
The choice of a winner was really difficult since there are so many properties that are beginning to green up. This is just the beginning of a breathtaking season in Branson!
Beautification Awards will be presented on a monthly basis between May and October. The criteria for nominations are:
A commercial property located within the Branson city limits
Landscaped area must be highly visible to the general public
