BRANSON, Mo – Mayor Larry Milton proclaimed October 4, as the City’s Annual National Night Out at the regular September 27 Board of Aldermen meeting and presented the proclamation to Branson Police Chief, Jeff Matthews and block party organizers Candy Cook and Raeanne Zurn.

National Night Out is a nationwide movement focused on strengthening relationships between neighbors and increasing safety and crime prevention. On Tuesday evening, October 4, 2022, neighborhoods throughout Branson will host block parties, cookouts and various other community events that include visits from emergency personnel, elected officials, City Administration and other city departments.

This year, Branson has 17 registered neighborhood block parties. While the block parties vary by neighborhood and multi-family communities, in the past there have been anything from bounce houses to live bands and good food.

”We are honored to have this event every year,” said Eiserman block party organizer, Candy Cook. “It has built bridges where there were gates and walls before. It also has promoted a wonderful relationship with the young people in our neighborhood and across Branson by building rapport and establishing safety. I encourage all neighborhoods to participate,” Cook said.

For more information about National Night Out and how to get involved, visit the National Night Out section on the Branson Police Department’s website, under Special Programs.
