Mayor Larry Milton wishes to express his sincere condolences on behalf of himself, his colleagues on the Board of Aldermen and the City of Branson, to the family of ‘Branson’s Voice of Soul,’ Nedgra Culp who passed away this week.

The Springfield, Missouri native impacted many in the region at an early age, earning a scholarship in music performance to Southwest Baptist University. During her career, she worked with many legendary performers all over the United States including Wayne Newton, Tony Orlando, Mel Tillis and Andy Williams.

“For years, Nedgra’s powerful voice echoed across the Branson stage and into our hearts. But it was her respect for others, her laugh, and her love of the Lord that left a lasting impression on anyone who knew her. She is the epitome of the caliber of people Branson is made up of. I am grateful she chose Branson. Her impact and legacy will have a lasting positive impact on our community and she will be truly missed,” said Mayor Milton.

Nedgra was awarded female vocalist of the year three times (1997, 1998, and 1999) as voted on by her peers. She was awarded Duo of the Year along with Bill Brooks in 2000, the same year she was inducted into the Branson Musician and Entertainers Hall of Fame.
