The City of Branson is assisting the Taney County Commission as they make plans to take over recycling operations for the county. As part of this transition, the City of Branson will temporarily reopen the Recycle Center located at 550 Compton Dr. on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, until Taney County can assume operations.
As part of this transition, there will not be any offsite drop locations. All recyclables will need to be brought directly to the Recycle Center. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Branson Recycle Center accepts glass, cardboard, cans, all types of paper, and only #1 and #2 type plastic bottles and jugs. The Branson Recycle Center does not take any other types of plastic. For more information on what type of items can be recycled, check out our recycling brochure (PDF).
Taney County residents can safely dispose of common household hazardous chemicals at no charge at the Branson Recycle Center by calling 417-337-8559 to make an appointment.
Common products found in your garage or utility cabinets cause water pollution when improperly poured down storm drains, into roadside ditches, or into the gutter. Never pour anything down a curb or storm drain that you wouldn't pour into a river.
Materials accepted by appointment only at Branson household chemical collections include:
No latex paint will be accepted. Unlike Oil based paint, latex paint is non-hazardous. Latex paint should be dried completely until hardened, then disposed of in the trash. You can find more ways to dispose of it here (PDF).
