The City of Branson is proud to announce Finance Director, Jamie Rouch, has been asked to speak to city managers, finance directors and finance officers from all over the World at the 113th Annual Government Financial Officers Association (GFOA) Conference in Los Angeles May 19-22, giving Branson an international platform to share its successes.
Rouch will speak on economic development and tourism; specifically how the two are related. Conference organizers asked Rouch to speak at the recommendation of other municipalities based on the successful implementation of the City’s priority-based budgeting, strong economic development, booming tourism market and how the City has tied it all together to create a thriving community.
“I am honored and humbled to be asked to speak in front of this group of highly respected government financial officials. Branson is a great community with a lot of positives to share. I hope to gain recognition and awareness for Branson as a top tourism destination with plans for growth and incentives to all of those who would like to invest in our City. We also have a desire to help others do the same for their municipalities,” said Rouch.
GFOA represents more than 20,000 federal, state and local public finance officials who are deeply involved in planning, financing and implementing thousands of governmental operations in each of their jurisdictions. GFOA's mission is to advance excellence in state and local government financial management. Its annual conference will feature opportunities for sharing ideas, sharpening skills and discovering new tools and technologies with peers from across North America and around the world.
